It is about time: Update, Game Day

Game Day

It seems that time has been flying by with not much to report on the movements of KB and I’s dance together. Perception is far from reality, however, as we have been all over the country (literally) and are currently in a riveting season of life. We’ve been in the preparation stage of life for so long now it will be interesting to experience the fruits of our labor this upcoming March. KB is nearing her next phase of her medical journey and is currently in an away rotation at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I’m stuck here in Amarillo… sort of…

Knowing that our apartment would seem empty without my Love, I put in a request to travel all across the wide range of places with clients for whom we photograph. I average 1.5 days in the apartment every week, so I am keeping busy, which is good, but the quiet still finds me on those nights when the thing I want most is to see into the eyes of my wife and share the tender sweetness of our love.

Sappy… (clearing my throat), I can hardly contain my excitement (manly subject change) about the fact that Game Day is finally here. The Dallas Cowboys kick off their 2009-2010 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tomorrow at noon. I am ready. The picture above is another photo I took from the first Cowboys game played in their new stadium, not sure why but it fits my mood tonight; as does John Mayer, Continuum.

2009 Inaugural Season: The Dallas Cowboys

For Dallas Cowboy’s fans, this past Friday night was a historic night as the Cowboys played the “Inaugural Game” in their new stadium. Since I happened to be in Plano for business, I could not resist the opportunity to explore and soak in what will probably be my only chance to step inside this amazing venue for quite sometime (unless any of you out there have season tickets you want to share with me!).

I was torn between experiencing all of the sights, sounds, and smells for myself and capturing it on camera to share with all my friends and family. I fell in to a happy medium and took my camera with a 50mm prime lens (meaning it doesn’t zoom in or out, a.k.a., “it is what it is”) and so I had the creative opportunity to try and share the larger than life atmosphere of the Cowboys new stadium with a small lens.

The new stadium is loud, it is state-of-the-art, and whoops watching a game on TV any day of the week no matter how big your flatscreen, this one is bigger. With the larger than life HD screens (even the “small” one is GIGANTIC) providing instant replays after every play and even splitting the screen in to four sections to show all passing routes of a play at the same time, the experience was simply remarkable.

If you don’t click on the panorama of the stadium to see it larger you are missing out!
