Getting Charged
9.18.2009 | 2 Comments
My workstation, which was once our dinner table, is fully stocked with many gadgets and toys currently being charged up for my photographic journey to Dallas and back tomorrow. Wish me luck…
.::. All this time on the road gives me a great deal of silence to fill with all the podcasts my brain can absorb. For a mental check-out I tune in to a couple of my favorites that keep me up to date with the Cowboys. Big game Sunday night against the New York Football Giants as the Cowboys look to open up their new home in all of its grandeur. I can’t wait.
.::. The other silence filler of late is a sweet band I stumbled upon called, “Bonobo.” Here’s what Pandora had to say about one of my favorite little ditties, “Ketto“:
r&b influences
classical influences
rock influences
danceable beats
a rhythmic intro
buildup/breakdown
use of modal harmonies
the use of chordal patterning
inventive acoustic arrangements
a tight kick sound
rhythmic clapping
acoustic drum samples
a slow moving bass line
use of harps
thickly layered production
extensive studio production
.::. Also for anyone interested, which is probably no one, my fantasy football team got off to a great start last week with a big “W.” Hope to follow through this week in similar fashion.
.::. Anyone else interested in the Fox show “Glee.” I am.
.::. And finally, last random thought for the night; I just finished a book by Francine Rivers (an AUDIOBOOK) called “A Voice in the Wind.” I did this for my wife, but really was challenged and encouraged by the powerful story. It’s part of the “Mark of the Lion” trilogy and so… I’m kind of actually eager to carry on. P.S. Don’t tell KB.
